Frank Loffredo Obituary, Death Cause – It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the demise of our good friend and a pioneer in the community, Frank Loffredo, who served as Mayor for many years. The legacy that Frank leaves behind is one that will always serve to motivate and direct us. Frank devoted his whole existence to enhancing the quality of life in our community and working to make it better. His unflinching dedication to public service and his persistent attempts to bring about constructive change have indelibly marked our Village. We will never forget either of these things.

Additionally, Frank desired to be of service to his community. 1978 marked the beginning of his career in public service when he was appointed to the position of Plan Commissioner for the Village of Lake Villa. After that, in 1985, he won election to the position of Village Trustee, and then, in 1993, he won election to the position of Mayor. Twenty-four years were spent with Frank holding the office of Mayor of Lake Villa. After he had finished his career, he was offered the position of Chairman of the Police Commission.

It is just as vital for us to celebrate the magnificent legacy that he leaves behind as it is to lament his passing away. The deeds that Frank did and the kind nature of his soul will continue to be an example for us and future generations. The Loffredo family and all of their friends have our sincerest sympathies in this difficult time. We empathize with them in their time of loss and join them in expressing our admiration for the extraordinary man he was. As a mark of respect for Frank, the flags of the Village will fly at half-staff until November 4th.
