I love them both, but while Perfect Blue nestles pleasantly in my brain, I could pretty much watch Black Swan forever.

Both are strikingly similar movies but I felt more unnerved by Perfect Blue. It created a more crazed atmosphere and I felt more mindfucked by it. Black Swan was a good movie but it can't reach the levels of (the possible inspiration) Perfect Blue.

While Paprika is better than Inception, Black Swan is better than Perfect Blue.

Perfect Blue was perfectly good. Until hallucinations and a weak plot twist. I still like it, but not as much as I could have if that revelation was better. Black Swan also had its share of hallucinations I guess, but those were better handled and I also really like how it adapted that ballet piece into its narrative.

Black Swan is much better. The twist, acting and story is way superior. Perfect Blue is good but nowhere near Black Swan's quality.
